Avril 2022 – I am delighted to have been one of the “pionniers of grand opera in Périgord”, taking part in this production of Carmen, which was the very first edition of LabOpéra Dordogne, a project led by conductor Chloé Meyzie. It was a great success, both artistically and in terms of audience, with 3,100 spectators for the premiere at the Palio de Périgueux-Boulazac and a total of 7,000 spectators including the dress rehearsal for school children. As a former teacher in the French education system, I was particularly happy to take part in a project that mobilized a large number of high school students for costumes, sets, extra and make-up, as well as hundreds of volunteers. One of the finest human adventures to which music has led me!
